Great Sage — overview
The Tensura: Reincarnated addon that gives the Great Sage its voice: Japanese skill announcements, ceremonies, a Voice of the World reincarnation, a menu, Assess Mode and voice commands.
Skill announcements
How the Great Sage announces every acquired skill: the Japanese sentence step by step, burst grouping, quiet mode, subtitles, the panic key, and the five markers 告 是 了 否 解.
Getting started
Installing Great Sage and its dependencies, what happens in the first minutes of a new world, and the settings worth knowing right away.
Commands
Every Great Sage command: announcement and scene previews, admin tools (/greatsage grant, xp, sigils, mark, worldvoice) and the client commands /sage, /sagescene, /sageraphael, /sagedemo.
Voice commands
Talk to the Great Sage offline: installing Vosk and the models, seven languages, wake word or push-to-talk, and /sage by keyboard.
Addon compatibility
What Great Sage does with other Tensura addons: voices, kanji, species in the carousel, Uniques at birth, and the special cases of FoxAblaze Ultimate, Date a Slime, TR Nightmare and TR Addon. Plus the one known conflict.
Reason-Destroying Sword, Venuzdonoa
The mod's first playable skill: a Unique skill that drives a demon sword up through the ground in front of you. Purely a set piece for now.
Changelog
Every version of Great Sage, from 0.0.7 in early access (server-wide Voice of the World, shader rendering, ceremony scenes) back to the very first 0.0.1.
Reincarnation
The birth scene that replaces Tensura's screen: the Voice of the World confirms your death, you draw three wishes, the first always grants a Unique skill, then you pick your species. Rules, figure shuffling and settings.
Great Sage menu
The Sage's menu (G key): its seven pages, the shader console and the classic menu, the dialogue bubble, Battle Mode and the panic key.
Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about Great Sage: the G key not responding, chatty announcements, birth and Uniques, voice input, servers, Raphael and performance.
Controls
Every Great Sage key: the menu (G), Assess Mode (V, B), Magic Sense (N), talking to the Sage, the panic stop (Delete), and the reincarnation scene keys.
Voice coverage
Mod by mod, how many skills and species the Great Sage can name out loud: 586 skills, 182 species, 1,354 sound entries in 0.0.7.
Configuration
Every option of Great Sage's two files, greatsage-client.toml (your display, voice and mic) and greatsage-common.toml (what the server decides), with default, range and effect.
The Voice of the World
世界の言葉, the voice of the world itself: it brings you into being, receives the Great Sage's petitions and, since 0.0.7, announces other players' awakenings and Harvest Festivals to the whole server.
Shader rendering
The 0.0.7 sageShaderRendering gamerule: the Sage's console, redrawn announcements, ceremonies as full-screen scenes, the Sea of Souls and skill fusion. What it changes, and how to go back to classic rendering.
Roadmap
What is in progress and planned for Great Sage: the public release of 0.0.7, an obtainable Raphael, voice lines left to record, and longer-term ideas.
Settings and What's new
The Settings page of the Sage menu (30 settings editable in game, gestures, defaults) and the "What's new" page after an update.
Magic Sense and auras
Magic Sense (N): the veil, the aimed being's name and EP, edge arrows, and every being's aura shaped by its EP, magicules and alignment.
Credits
Who makes Great Sage, what it is built on (Tensura: Reincarnated, ManasCore, Vosk, NeoForge, fonts), and the place kept for those who support it.
Battle Mode
The Great Sage raises your guard for you: it keeps your toggle skills up and recasts the others as soon as their cooldown ends, for as long as the mode lasts.
Skill fusion
When skills merge into a Unique or an Ultimate, the Sage no longer settles for an announcement: the sources slam into the screen as anime cards, the screen shatters, and the shards form the new skill.
