Skill fusion
When skills merge into a Unique or an Ultimate, the Sage no longer settles for an announcement: the sources slam into the screen as anime cards, the screen shatters, and the shards form the new skill.
In Tensura, skills sometimes merge into a single, higher one: Predator and Starved becoming Gluttony, for instance. The game itself never says "fusion" — it forgets some skills, then learns the other. Since 0.0.7, the Great Sage recognises that moment and gives it its own scene, modelled on the anime's skill cards.
When it triggers
- You lose one or more Extra, Unique or Ultimate skills…
- … and you learn a Unique or an Ultimate within the next 3 seconds.
The Sage then links the two: the lost skills become the sources, the new one the result. Intrinsic skills do not count (a species change replaces them all, that is not a fusion). An Ultimate with no source gets the scene too, in a form of its own. Raphael's evolution keeps its own scene (see Raphael's evolution).
The scene
- 告. Then the sources come from the back as glass tablets and slam into the screen one after another: impact frame, shake, star cracks around the point of impact. Each tablet carries its skill's name, in a column, anime style — a downward triangle or a diamond, cream frame, black inside, a small ユニークスキル.
- The charge. The tablets pull toward each other, electric arcs run across them, the cracks spread over the whole screen and light leaks through, up to white.
- The shatter. The screen bursts into 90 triangular shards that fly toward you spinning, then come back to their place carrying the new image.
- The seal. The new skill's card: a downward triangle on a double-lined hexagram, 統 and 合 on either side, the kanji in a column, the Latin name under the top edge; behind it, a magic circle of glyphs, white rays and sprays — orange and violet for a Unique, blue and gold for an Ultimate. UNIQUE SKILL or ULTIMATE SKILL, and a flash.
The fusion lasts 5.2 seconds, then the Sage speaks the announcement in its usual voice: the rank, the name, "…no kakutoku ni seikō shimashita". An addon skill whose kanji the mod does not know shows its English name in capitals, across the card.
Ultimate with no source: no empty card — a spray bursts in the centre (cracks, filaments, shake), then the screen shatters the same way.

Without learning anything, with /greatsage fusion (no permission needed):
