Races and evolution tree

The eight races of Seraph of the Slime, their two evolution paths and the Fallen Seraph that links them.

In development Race v0.0.1 3 min read

Seraph of the Slime adds eight races to Tensura's registry: they show up in its evolution menu just like the original races. None of them carries "Vampire", "Lord" or "Human" in its name, so they can be told apart from Tensura's at a glance. Every in-game description starts with [Seraph of the End].

As in Tensura, requirements belong to the target race, and they split the progress bar evenly: with two requirements each is worth 50%, with three a third. You can only evolve at 100%.

The other bonuses (attack speed, knockback resistance, speed, swimming) are on each race's page. All these values can be tuned in race_config.toml: see Configuration (race_config.toml).

What sets the two paths apart

  • Sanguinem: vampires of the Majin alignment. They fear the sun (less and less as they rise), food no longer heals them and they bite with the race key. Everything is explained in Vampirism: sun, blood and bite.
  • Seraphs: humans (default alignment, then Holy for the Seraph of the End). The Vessel can awaken the Seraph sleeping within: Seraph Awakening.
  • Fallen Seraph: keeps the vampires' blood and bite, gains flight, and the sun only leaves it Weakness I.
