Vampirism: sun, blood and bite
How Sanguinem vampires live: tiered sun weakness, food that no longer heals, and the bite.
The five Sanguinem races — and the Fallen Seraph, which keeps their blood — share three rules: the sun weakens them, food no longer heals them, and they feed by biting. The higher you climb the lineage, the less the sun weighs on you.
The sun
Whenever a vampire is under the sun (daytime, open sky), it receives effects that refresh as long as it stays exposed and wear off about 2 seconds after reaching the shade.
| Race | Effects in the sun |
|---|---|
| Sanguinem Fledgling |
| Sanguinem Noble |
| Progenitor |
| Fallen Seraph |
| First Progenitor |
None of this applies in creative or spectator mode.
Food and the blood gauge
For Sanguinem vampires, food no longer heals: the hunger bar becomes a blood gauge. To fill it:
- bite a creature (see below);
- drink
Noble's Blood (+6 hunger points) or
Progenitor's Blood (+12 hunger points).
The bite
Aim at a creature within 5 blocks and press the race key (R by default). The bite targets the creature you are looking at, deals blood drain damage, and gives you back as much HP as the damage dealt, plus hunger points.
| Race | Damage | HP restored | Hunger restored |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sanguinem Fledgling | 3 | 3 |
| Sanguinem Noble | 5 | 5 |
| Progenitor | 8 | 8 |
| Fallen Seraph | 10 | 10 |
| First Progenitor | 12 | 12 |
- The bite fails on bloodless creatures from Tensura's list (golems, skeletons, slimes…).
- If the target does not take the damage (invulnerable, for instance), you gain nothing.
- A gulping sound plays at the target.
