Camael (Axe and Cannon)
Kotori's weapon: an axe of flame that sets what it strikes ablaze, and rebuilds itself into Megiddo, a right-click charged cannon whose shot pierces the terrain for 96 blocks.
Camael is the weapon born from the
Camael skill: a red-and-black battle axe made of flame, heavy and slow, that sets everything it strikes ablaze. One weapon, two bodies: the skill's Megiddo mode takes it apart piece by piece and rebuilds it as a cannon on your arm, without ever changing item.
Obtaining it
Camael cannot be crafted or found: it is born from the fire when you use the Manifestation mode of the angel Camael. The axe appears in your main hand; whatever you were holding goes into your inventory. Using Manifestation a second time returns it to the fire, wherever it is stored.
Axe form
- Heavier than a netherite sword, slower than an axe: every swing counts.
- Every hit sets the target on fire for 6 seconds, with a burst of flame on impact.
- Right-click: nothing. The axe techniques (Blazing Crescent, Burning Whirl, Wall of Flame) are modes of the skill, cast with the key of Camael's slot.
- The weapon does not wear out and does not burn.
Cannon form: Megiddo
The skill's Megiddo mode (3,000 magicules, 3 s cooldown), with Camael in your main hand, starts the transformation: the blades open and fly off, the haft retracts, the core becomes the barrel, the plates spin into place, the fins unfold. The cannon is ready after 2.4 seconds. The same mode takes it back apart into the axe in 1.4 seconds (and costs another 3,000 magicules).
While it is a cannon, the axe techniques are refused, and hitting something with the cannon in melee does not set it on fire: it is just a club.
Charging and firing
- Hold right-click: the barrel slides out and flames rush into the muzzle. You walk slowly while charging, as with a bow.
- Release to fire. Under 0.75 s, nothing fires. At 3 s, a sound signals full charge.
- The beam leaves the muzzle along your line of sight. It passes through every creature along its length and sets them on fire for 12 seconds; the recoil pushes you back a step.
- You then need 2 seconds before the next shot.
| Charge | Power | Damage | Range | Beam radius |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.75 s (minimum) | 25% | ~156 | 54 blocks | ~1.5 blocks |
| 1.5 s | 50% | ~238 | 68 blocks | ~2 blocks |
| 2.25 s | 75% | ~319 | 82 blocks | ~2.6 blocks |
| 3 s (full) | 100% | 400 | 96 blocks | 3.2 blocks |
The damage is fire damage (Tensura's flame element): fire resistances reduce it. The shot spares its shooter, their tamed animals and players in creative, but not allies.
Scorched earth
With the megiddoTerrain gamerule (on by default), the beam pierces the terrain and leaves a trench behind it:
- In the core of the beam, blocks are erased — except unbreakable blocks, blocks harder than obsidian, and blocks that hold something (chests, furnaces…): a chest does not evaporate.
- Along the walls, stone turns into basalt, blackstone and sometimes magma blocks; dirt turns into coarse dirt or soul soil; sand turns into glass; wood, leaves and wool burn away; water evaporates. Fires catch on top.
- 6,000 blocks at most per shot.
- Server protections (claims, spawn) are respected: where digging is not allowed, nothing changes.
Without the gamerule, the beam stops at the first block and leaves the terrain alone. See Gamerules.
A manifestation, not an item
Camael only exists as long as its bearer calls it. So the weapon cannot leave its bearer's inventory:
- throwing it is refused: it goes back into the inventory (if the inventory is full, it vanishes; Manifestation calls it back);
- it cannot be stored in any container: chest, barrel, hopper, shulker box, ender chest, crafting table, donkey… nor in a bundle;
- it cannot be put in an item frame, on an armor stand, in an allay's hands, or in a decorated pot;
- it cannot exist on the ground: when you die, it does not drop, it vanishes.
Just go through Manifestation again to get it back.
Tips
- In axe form the attack speed is very low: wait for the attack bar to fill before each swing.
- Releasing too early costs nothing: under 0.75 s of charge, no shot fires, no wait is imposed and the cannon stays ready.
- A full-charge shot cuts a hill in two: turn it off (
megiddoTerrain) on a server where people care about their builds, or keep it for the wilds. - Remember the cost of going back: returning to the axe costs as much as assembling the cannon.
