Rasiel's Blank Page

The 18 entries you can draw or write in Rasiel: shape, keywords, magicule price, cooldown, range and limits of each one.

Early access Skill v0.0.2 9 min read

The Blank Page is the third mode of Rasiel, and it is where almost the whole Angel lives: eighteen entries you ask of the book by drawing them, writing them, or both. Each one has its own price in magicules and its own cooldown — from 800 magicules and 30 seconds to count the creatures around you, to 25,000 magicules and a quarter of an hour to drag a player across the world.

How it works, in short

  1. Activate The Blank Page mode (300 magicules): the book opens on your screen, without pausing the game.
  2. Draw the entry's shape in the right-hand frame, and/or write one of its keywords on the line below, followed by what you are looking for (a player name, a structure, biome or block name).
  3. Close the book (or Enter). The ink dries for 3.5 seconds, then the price is taken and the entry happens.
  • You need at least the shape or a keyword: a player name or an item name alone, with no drawing and no keyword, gives an illegible page.
  • Drawing and word agreeing = a signed entry: −25% cooldown.
  • Drawing and word disagreeing: the word decides.
  • Failure (illegible page, unknown name, nothing found): nothing is taken, and the page opens again after 10 seconds.
  • The cooldown set is the written entry's, and it locks the whole page.

The screen, its controls and the ink are described in the Rasiel article.

The 18 entries

Cooldowns in brackets are for a signed entry. Shapes are recognised by their outline: stroke order, direction, size and position in the frame do not matter.

Knowledge

Find a player

Draw the stick figure and write the name of an online player — or write a keyword with the name ("player Steve", "who Steve"); both together sign the entry. The page gives their position, their world, their distance (or "another world"), their health and what they hold in hand. The player found glows through walls for 60 seconds, and their position becomes the journey's mark. Works across dimensions; fails if nobody has that name.

Find a structure

Draw the house and write the English name of a vanilla structure, words separated by spaces: mansion, ancient city, trial chambers, village plains… stronghold, monument and fortress are keywords too: written alone they are enough, and with the house the entry is signed. The book looks for the nearest one in the dimension you are in (up to about a hundred chunks away) and gives its position, distance and heading (north, south-east…). It becomes the journey's mark.

  • Writing just "village" or "temple" is not enough: you need the real name (village plains, village desert, jungle pyramid…). The drawing alone, without a name, fails too.
  • A name containing desert (desert pyramid) is read as a biome request and fails.
  • Structures from other mods cannot be searched.

Find a biome

Draw the fir tree and write the English name of a vanilla biome (dark forest, cherry grove, mushroom fields…). Names containing forest or desert are keywords too: they are enough on their own. The book looks for the nearest one up to 6,400 blocks away and gives position, distance and heading. It becomes the journey's mark.

Find a block

Draw the rhombus and write the English name of a vanilla block (iron ore, deepslate diamond ore, ancient debris, chest, spawner…); names containing ore, block or diamond are enough on their own. The rhombus with no word looks for diamond ore. The search covers 48 blocks in every direction and returns the nearest match: position, distance, heading. It becomes the journey's mark.

Census

Counts everything alive within 64 blocks of you (players included) and lists the ten most common species with their numbers. Fails if there is no one.

What they carry

Draw the chest or write a keyword ("pack Steve"), with the name of an online player: the page lists what is in their inventory and armour, grouped and sorted, twelve lines at most ("empty-handed" if they carry nothing).

Where you died

Gives the position and world of your last death, and makes it the journey's mark. Fails if you have never died.

Where home is

Gives the position of your respawn point (your bed) or, failing that, the world spawn, and makes it the journey's mark.

Travel

Travel to the mark

Teleports you to the last place the book found for you (player, structure, biome, block, grave or home), even in another dimension. The book sets you down at the first free space (two blocks of air) going up from the marked point: you may land in a cave. Fails if the book has not looked at anything yet. The mark is forgotten when the server restarts.

Summon a player

Cannot be drawn: write a keyword and the name ("summon Steve", "appeler Steve"). The player, wherever they are, is set down two blocks in front of you and is told "your name wrote you into their page." You cannot summon yourself. It is the most expensive entry in the book, and it can never be signed.

What you bring

Three guardians

Three iron golems appear around you for 2 minutes, then fade away. They behave like player-built golems, and leave no loot and no experience, whether they die or vanish.

Phantom Library

Cannot be drawn. Walls of pages rise for 20 seconds over a 16-block radius, around the creature you aim at (up to 48 blocks) or, failing that, around you. Everything alive inside — allies included, you excepted — is given a role, always the same one for a given creature; anything trying to leave (between 16 and 20 blocks out) is pushed back towards the centre.

Role During the story On the last page
The hero Strength I, Resistance I, Glowing Healed for 10 HP (5 hearts)
The villain Strength II, Speed I, Glowing 22 spiritual damage (11 hearts)
The fool Nausea, Slowness II, Mining Fatigue III Nothing
The princess Weakness III, Resistance II, Regeneration I Healed for 10 HP (5 hearts)
The beast Speed II, Jump Boost II, Blindness 14 spiritual damage (7 hearts)

The world

Break the day

The sun comes up: the time jumps to the morning of the current day, and the sky clears for 5 minutes. Affects everyone in the dimension.

Call the storm

Rain and thunder for 5 minutes, across the whole dimension.

Quiet everything

Every creature within 32 blocks forgets its target and whoever hit it. Fails if there are none.

Utility

Mend what you hold

The item in your main hand is fully repaired. Fails if your hand is empty or the item undamaged.

Wall of pages

A panel of pages about 5 blocks wide and 4 high rises 3.5 blocks in front of you for 20 seconds. It swallows every projectile passing through it, except yours. Melee blows go through.

Blessing

Strength II, Speed II, Resistance I and Night Vision for 2 minutes. (The index rounds its cooldown down to "2 min"; it is really 2 min 30.)

Common limits

  • One cooldown for the whole page: the last successful entry's.
  • Player names: the book only reads letters, digits and spaces. A name containing an underscore (_) or another symbol will not be recognised. Case does not matter.
  • Structure, biome and block names: in English, vanilla identifiers only, words separated by spaces (no underscores).
  • Keywords: when a text contains several, the first entry in the list wins. "guard" means the guardians, not the wall.
  • A player must be online to be found, read or summoned.
