Dependencies and compatibility
What you need to install to play Date a Slime, client and server side, and how it gets along with Great Sage, other mods and shader packs.
Date a Slime is a Tensura: Reincarnated addon for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge. It adds items, creatures, structures and a dimension: it must be installed on the server and on every client. Here is the exact list of dependencies, and what to know about running it alongside other mods.
Dependencies
| Mod | Minimum version | Side | Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minecraft | 1.21.1 (up to 1.22, excluded) | both | — |
| NeoForge | 21.1.0 | both | mod loader |
| Tensura: Reincarnated | 2.0.0.0 | both | skills, magicules, EP, the HUD |
| ManasCore | 4.0.0.0 | both | Tensura's skill system |
| Architectury API | 13.0.0 | both | required by Tensura and ManasCore |
| GeckoLib | 4.7 | both | models and animations of the Angels, weapons and Spirits |
| PlayerAnimator | 2.0 | client only | player gestures (raising an arm, turning the key, aiming…) |
The current version was built and tested with NeoForge 21.1.244, Tensura: Reincarnated 2.0.1.1, ManasCore 4.0.0.2, Architectury 13.0.8, GeckoLib 4.9.2 and PlayerAnimator 2.0.4. Tensura already requires GeckoLib, ManasCore and Architectury: if Tensura runs, you're usually only missing PlayerAnimator.
With Great Sage
Date a Slime was born inside Great Sage before being split off: the two mods are independent, neither needs the other, and you can install one, the other or both.
Installed together, they complement each other:
- the Great Sage knows each Angel's Japanese title (刻々帝〈ザフキエル〉 for Zaphkiel, 封解主〈ミカエル〉 for Michael…) and shows it when it announces an Angel skill;
- the Angels are never among the skills drawn at random by Great Sage's reincarnation: you get them through their crystals, never by luck.
With other mods
- Modded creatures and items: most powers work on any entity. Segva freezes any non-living thing from another mod; Zaphkiel's silhouettes (Yud, Het…) redraw any creature; Haniel's Mimicry copies the look of whatever you aim at.
- Modded structures:
Rasiel's blank page only finds vanilla structures, biomes and blocks — modded structure names can't be read. - Modded bosses: the list of bosses that can drop a
Qlipha Crystal contains the vanilla bosses, the seven Spirits and about fifteen Tensura bosses (Charybdis, Orc Disaster, Ifrit, Hinata Sakaguchi…). The Tensura ones are optional: if they don't exist in your version, the list skips them. It's a data tag (dateaslime:sephira_bearers): a datapack can add more entities to it. - Tensura's HUD: Zaphkiel's time bar sits under Tensura's aura and magicule bars and follows their position, scale and side if you moved them. If a future Tensura version changes its HUD, the bar may disappear without breaking anything else.
- Shader packs: Zaphkiel's screen effects (grey stopped time, the view of the future…) use the game's post-processing effects; with a shader pack, they may look different.
Performance
Every effect is drawn by the mod, with no vanilla particles. The heaviest are Zaphkiel's City of Devouring Time (the shadow covers the ground forty blocks around), Zadkiel's Blizzard Dome and Camael's flames.
