Controls
Every key in Date a Slime: the mode wheel on G, Tensura's keys to fire your Angels, and what clicks, sneaking and jumping do with the mod's weapons, crystals, chains and screens.
Date a Slime adds a single key to your controls: the Angel Mode Wheel, on G. Everything else goes through keys you already know: Tensura's keys to fire your Angels and switch modes, and the game's own keys (attack, use, sneak, jump) for the weapons, crystals, chains and mounts. This page gathers all of it, with the default values.
The mod's key
| Action | Default | Where to change it |
|---|---|---|
| Angel Mode Wheel | G (hold) | Options › Controls › Date a Slime › Angel Mode Wheel |
G was chosen so as not to clash with the keys Tensura already uses (B, N, Z, X, C, R, V and Left Alt). If it conflicts with another mod, rebind it in the controls menu.
Firing an Angel: Tensura's keys
An Angel is a Tensura Ultimate skill and plays like any other skill:
- Place the Angel in a slot of your active preset (Tensura's skill menu).
- That slot's key fires the selected mode. Most modes are a single press; some are pressed again to stop (Metatron's wings, Haniel's broom, Gabriel's songs, dismissing a manifested Angel).
- Tensura's mode keys move to the next or previous mode.
Those keys belong to Tensura: set them in its own controls options.
The mode wheel
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Hold G | Opens the wheel, one slice per mode |
| Aim at a slice (mouse) | Shows the mode's name, cost and cooldown |
| Release G or left-click | Selects that mode for the Angel's slot |
| Scroll wheel | Switches to the next Angel (if several are slotted) |
| Right-click or Esc | Closes without changing anything |
The game is not paused while the wheel is open. Details: Angel Mode Wheel.
Crystals
| Item | Input | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Right-click | Absorbs the crystal: the Angel is yours (refused if you already have it) | |
| Right-click a creature | Implants the crystal: the creature becomes a host | |
| Hold right-click for 2 s | Absorbs the Qlipha: certain death, even with a totem |
Angel weapons
| Weapon | Input | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Right-click | Fires the loaded bullet (or a plain bullet) at what you aim at | |
| Left-click | Fires as well; while it is in hand, left-click no longer hits or breaks anything | |
| Flintlock or musket | Sneak + click | The loaded bullet goes into your own temple after 0.9 s |
| Hold right-click, release | Charges and fires Megiddo: nothing under 0.75 s, full charge at 3 s | |
| Left-click | A bare-handed blow: the key has no right-click |
Zaphkiel's two guns each have their own half-second rate of fire: alternating right-click and left-click fires twice as often.
Movement, mounts and flight
| Situation | Input | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Zadkiel manifested | Right-click her | You climb on her back (only you) |
| Riding Zadkiel | Move forward while looking up / down | She climbs or dives where you look; letting go of the controls leaves her hovering |
| Riding Zadkiel | Sneak | Get off the mount |
| Zadkiel, Ice Storm | Fire the mode while sneaking | Eight needles rise in a crown around you |
| Metatron, Mal'akh | Slot key | Opens or folds the wings; while sprinting, your body stretches out horizontally |
| Haniel, Broom Flight | Slot key | Get on or off the broom (touching the ground is not enough) |
| Zaphkiel, Tet bullet | Sneak | Leave the target's eyes before the 12 s are up |
Sealing Chains
| Input | Effect |
|---|---|
| Hold right-click | Swings the chain; ready after 0.7 s, it flies on its own at the creature under the crosshair (20 blocks) |
| Sneak + right-click | Let go of your chain |
| Jump (Space) | The tug of war: the chained Spirit arms and releases its jerks, the targeted holder parries at the right moment |
The whole duel is explained in
Sealing Chains.
The mod's screens
Rasiel's blank page
| Input | Effect |
|---|---|
| Hold left-click in the frame | Draw |
| Type on the keyboard | Write on the line (64 characters max) |
| ← → Home End Backspace Delete | Edit the line |
| Scroll wheel over the index, ↑ ↓, Page Up Page Down | Turn the index pages |
| Enter or Close the book | Send the entry |
| Esc | Close without writing anything |
The game keeps running while you write. See
Rasiel's Blank Page.
The extraction ritual
| Trial | Input |
|---|---|
| 封 — strike at the right moment | Space, Enter or left-click |
| 詠 — memorise, then type back | Arrow keys, WASD or ZQSD |
| 破 — hammer | Space or left-click |
| 紋 — recognise | Click the glyph or 1 to 4 |
| 導 — follow | Keep the mouse cursor inside the ring |
Closing the screen with Esc before answering fails the trial. These keys are fixed: they don't follow your controls settings. See Extraction Ritual.
What about configuration?
Date a Slime has no config file and no options screen: everything a server can tune goes through gamerules (/gamerule), listed in Gamerules.
