Transfer Durability

Transfer Human Unit Durability makes your own life flow into another unit, point for point, along a stream of light. It is the Underworld's first healing gesture: no luminous element, no potion — only what you are willing to lose.

The incantation

System Call. Transfer Human Unit Durability, Self to Left.

• The short form Transfer Durability works too.
• The direction (Self to Left, Self to Right) is said as in the anime, but it is not read: life always flows from you to the target.
• No authority required: this is one of the spells you can cast from your very first minute.
• The command fires at once, with no closing word, and closes the incantation.

The target

• The unit traced earlier in the incantation, at any distance as long as it is loaded in your dimension;
• otherwise the creature you are looking at, in line of sight, 16 blocks away at most, within a cone of about 12° around the crosshair.

Any living creature will do: a player, a villager, your wolf, a monster. Never yourself.

How life flows

The stream settles in half a second, then life passes in sips of one point every 0.15 s for a second and a half — ten sips at most.

• You always keep at least 1 health: the system refuses to let you kill yourself this way. If your life runs dry, the stream stops by itself.
• The target only receives what it is missing: a unit at full health costs you nothing.
• The stream breaks if the target dies, or if you die.
• Held elements are consumed; their dominant element colours the stream (golden, the colour of light, if you held none).
