Aqueous Element
Water: pushes, extinguishes, drowns fire creatures, lets you breathe underwater.
The Aqueous Element is water. Against an ordinary creature it hits softly (×0.7) but pushes it back and puts it out. Against a fire creature it is the deadliest of the eight: ×2.5. Outside combat, it is the practical element above all — putting out a blaze, watering a field, breathing underwater.
Generate Aqueous ElementIn a volley
An aqueous element that hits a creature:
- puts it out if it was burning;
- pushes it back horizontally (less strongly than an aerial element, but without losing as much damage).
Against a Blaze, a Ghast, a Magma Cube or a Strider, its damage is multiplied by 2.5 — even more than cryogenic.
Burst Element
Present in a Burst (at least one fifth of the elements), it puts out every fire in a cube around the blast point (the blast radius, 8 blocks at most).
| Mixed with | Reaction | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Thermal | Steam | blindness 4 s |
| Cryogenic | Glacier | long freeze, Slowness IV 8 s, water freezes |

Adhere
The aimed target (24 blocks) is put out. If it is fire-immune, it drowns: 2 damage per element. Otherwise, it gains Water Breathing for 10 s + 3 s per element.
With no creature in sight, the element puts out fires around the block you look at (24 blocks), over 2 blocks + 1 per element, and fully hydrates farmland. It always succeeds on a block: it never turns back to you in that case.
With no target and no block, you are put out and gain Water Breathing 30 s + 15 s per element and Dolphin's Grace 10 s + 5 s per element.
In Grand Arts
When water dominates the cores, the Grand Art takes the epithet Tidal: Tidal Pillar, Tidal Meteor, Tidal Tempest, Tidal Dome, Tidal Rain. See Merge Element and Grand Arts.
