Sacred Power

The resource every element draws: a reserve per chunk, richer in greenery and sunlight, that runs dry on a battlefield.

In development Mechanic v0.0.1 2 min read

Every element you generate draws on the local Sacred Power. It is not a personal gauge: it is a reserve per chunk, shaped by what grows around you and the sun above. A big fight drains a battlefield until no one can cast anything there.

A place's capacity

The mod measures an 11 × 5 × 11 block box around you:

  • Life (leaves, logs, flowers, grass, crops, saplings, moss, vines…): up to +180.
  • Water: up to +30.
  • Buildings (planks, stairs, slabs, walls, fences, doors, wool, bricks, glass, concrete…): up to −60 % of capacity.
Place Approximate capacity
Bare cave or desert 40
Dense forest, flowery meadow up to 250
Fully built town 40 % of what the place would be worth
Nether ×0.6
End ×0.4

Capacity is re-measured at most once a minute: planting or building changes it.

Recharge

An empty reserve refills in about 60 seconds, multiplied by the sky factor above the place:

Sky Factor
Broad daylight, open sky ×1.4
Night, open sky ×0.5
Covered (underground, under a roof) ×0.35
Skyless dimension (Nether, End) ×0.5
Rain ×0.75 on top
Thunderstorm ×0.6 on top

Where your draw comes from

You draw first from your own chunk, then from a share of the neighbouring chunks:

  • normally, the 8 surrounding chunks, 35 % of each;
  • as soon as you hold a core (Merge Element), the 24 surrounding chunks, 50 % of each — a Grand Art drains a whole valley.

The incantation console shows the Sacred Power available where you stand.
