Metallic Element
Metal: the heaviest physical blows, and metal skin.
The Metallic Element is the heaviest of the eight: ×1.5 on damage, the strongest multiplier in the mod. But it is also the only one that strikes like a thrown object rather than magic: armor counts. Clung to yourself, it gives you metal skin.
Generate Metallic ElementIn a volley
A metallic element that hits a creature deals physical projectile damage — reduced by armor and Projectile Protection, unlike the seven other elements — and slows it: Slowness II 2 s (1.5 s + 0.5 s per step of strength).
Against an unarmored creature, it is by far the deadliest element. Against a player in heavy armor, crystal (×1.15, magic) can do better.
The arrow (Arrow Shape) damage above is before armor. Heavy shapes suit it well: a metallic Hammer Shape deals 15 base damage at SCA 1. See Element shapes.
Burst Element
In a Burst, metal weighs down everything the explosion touches. Mixed with fire, it becomes molten metal:
| Mixed with | Reaction | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Thermal | Molten metal | damage ×1.4 |

The aimed target (24 blocks) is weighed down: Slowness for 3 s + 1 s per element, stronger with more elements — Slowness I for one, II for two or three, III for four or five, up to Slowness V from eight.
With no creature in sight, you gain metal skin: Resistance for 10 s + 5 s per element — Resistance I, II from four elements, III from eight. Metal does not cling to blocks: aiming at a block protects yourself instead.
In Grand Arts
When metal dominates the cores, the Grand Art takes the epithet Iron: Iron Pillar, Iron Meteor, Iron Tempest, Iron Dome, Iron Rain. See Merge Element and Grand Arts.
