Umbra Element
Darkness: blinds, weighs down, marks through walls, grants invisibility.
The Umbra Element is darkness. Its damage is average (×1), but every blow plunges the target into darkness and weighs it down. Clung to a creature, it marks it: you can see it through walls for minutes. Clung to yourself, it makes you invisible. It is the hunter's element.
Generate Umbra ElementIn a volley
An umbra element that hits a creature deals full magic damage and gives it:
- Darkness 3.5 s (3 s + 0.5 s per step of strength);
- Slowness I 2.5 s (2 s + 0.5 s per step of strength).
It is the simplest element to start with: System Call. Generate Umbra Element. Discharge. is the very first incantation people try.
Burst Element
In a Burst, darkness engulfs everything the explosion touches. Mixed with light, it causes the most violent reaction in the mod:
| Mixed with | Reaction | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Luminous | Paradox | damage ×2.5 — the caster loses up to half their remaining health |
Details: Element reactions.
Adhere
The aimed target (24 blocks) is marked: Glowing for 8 s per element (2 minutes at most), visible through walls, and Slowness I 3 s + 1 s per element. Ideal for following a runaway, then catching it with a Trace.
With no creature in sight, you turn invisible for 5 s per element (50 s for ten). Umbra does not cling to blocks: aiming at a block hides yourself instead.
In Grand Arts
When umbra dominates the cores, the Grand Art takes the epithet Abyssal: Abyssal Pillar, Abyssal Meteor, Abyssal Tempest, Abyssal Dome, Abyssal Rain. See Merge Element and Grand Arts.
